The rooftop garden


     The rooftop garden is situated in central Poland. It's roughly eighteen sqare meters and is South East facing.
Terrace divided into two zones, dining area and sitting area by placing them at different levels.
    Dining area, at a higher level next to the exit from the kitchen is equipped with a light construction furniture. It's the place for spending time for a morning coffee or tea. In the right side of dining area there is a stainless steel flower pot planted with herbs such as mint  (Mentha piperita 'Chocolate'), stevia (Stevia rebaudiana), basil (Ocimum basilicum), gold lemon thyme (Thymus x citriodorus 'Aureus'), oregano (Origanum vulgare), barbecue rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis 'Barbecue') and golden sage (Salvia officinalis 'Icterina'). All of the herbs are ornamelntal from flowers and foliage. They can be used for cooking and barbeque.
    Rest of the plants in this flower bed are arranged in japanese style. Japanese maple (Acer palmatum 'Atropurpureum') was planted likewise some ornamental grasses such as Bearskin fescue (Festuca scoparia), curly sedge (Carex buchananii 'Fox Red' and Carex morrowii 'Variegata',  feather reedgrass (Calamagrostis x acutiflora 'Karl Foerster'),  golden japanese forestgrass  (Hakonechloa macra 'Aureola') and Miscanthus sinensis 'Morning Light'. Flower bed is filled with the stratum of the ornamental pebbles. Instead of wooden fencing the vertical garden was proposed as a barrier form neighboring garden. Vertical garden could be constructed from a tree trunks with some perennials and ornamelntal grasses planted in.
    At a lower level, next to the exit from the living room space designated area with deck chairs and a coffee table. In the south side of lower level of the garden there is a flower pot made form stainless steel with ornamlental garsses and heavenly bamboo (Nadina domestica and golden bamboo ( Phyllostachys aurea. Between plansts there is the soft lighting hidden. Wooden panels from siberian larch are arranged in such a way that visually expand the garden and the night lights gently emphasized the simple modern shapes.
